Golf in the central North Island

Grab your golf buddies and journey to Taupo and the Hawkes Bay to play at some of the world’s best courses. With no international visitors who usually flock to these courses, this is your chance to play on the fairways and greens that you have only dreamed about!

Day 1

Acacia Cliffs Lodge

Acacia Cliffs Lodge (3 nights)

Architecturally designed, Acacia Cliffs Lodge combines the character and architectural features of the original pole house with the modern facilities of a purpose built lodge - stunning views, indoor/outdoor living, sun-drenched decks and contemporary design. The lodge has four privately appointed superking guest rooms each with their own private decks and offering spectacular lake and mountain views.

Day 2

Wairakei Golf Course

Wairakei Golf

Enjoy a round of golf at Wairakei Golf Course. The property sprawls over 180 Hectares within Wairakei Geothermal Park just 10 kilometres north of New Zealand’s largest lake, and the resort township of Taupo. The Course is located a stone’s throw from the mighty Waikato River so that the roar of the powerful Huka Falls can almost be heard, and around its borders plumes of superheated steam can be seen rising through mature forest. The Wairakei Geothermal Park is a place of majestic beauty. It was against this impressive backdrop that leading British Golf Course Architect Commander John Harris saw potential to create a championship golf course like no other. Skirting the edges of active geothermal fields he used the volcanic contours to sculpt fairways, elevate tees and greens and bury hazards within the natural landscape.

Day 3

Kinloch Club

Kinloch Club

Today enjoy golf at the Jack Nicklaus designed The Kinloch Club.

Often compared to the classic link courses in Scotland and Ireland, however, instead of traditional sea views, this world-class championship Par 72 course is positioned between panoramic views of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest fresh-water lake, and the natural beauty of rugged rural farmland. Ranked as New Zealand’s number one golf course in 2014 by a select team of New Zealand Golf Professionals the Kinloch Club is also rated 76th of the top 100 golf courses outside of America by Golf Digest Magazine.

Day 4

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers (2 nights)

Set atop 6,000 rolling acres of pasture land, The Farm encompasses terrain which is reminiscent of Montana but plunges 800 feet into the sea. The clusters of lodge buildings are suggestive of a working farm. A combination of stone and weathered wood, the buildings combine rustic materials with comfortable up-to-date furniture. An award winning Golf Course and indulgent Spa Treatment facilities are available at this Relaix et Chateaux property.

Day 5

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers

Enjoy a round of golf at the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course with wonderful sea views & coastal scenery.

Designed by legendary golf architect Tom Doak, the Cape Kidnappers par 71 golf course measures 7,147 yards (6,569 meters) and will challenge golfers of all skill levels. Completed in 2004, our spectacular New Zealand golf course has been hailed as one of the great modern marvels in golf. Built on a ridge-and-valley landscape and with stunning sea views, Cape Kidnappers Golf Course plays high above the ocean atop dramatic cliffs.
